Family Reading

Wildlife Specialist Doug Hansen of Midvale will be giving a special presentation at this year’s annual Family Reading event on Thursday, November 19th, from 3:30 to 5:30 P.M. at Midvale Community Library.  Families are invited to learn about the wildlife of Idaho, eat mud (pie) and (gummy) worms and make a wild craft to take home, as we explore the theme “Idaho is WILD about Reading”.

Mr. Hansen is a trapper for the USDA, and as such he is the go-to person when there are unfortunate encounters between livestock and predators.  He is called out to deal with wolves, coyotes, lions and bears, as well as troublesome skunks, beavers and other destructive animals.  We look forward to hearing his stories about wildlife, and showing you the many books we have about wildlife here in the library.
